We have been mining red gravel in the West Tennessee area since 1955. Because our materials are surface-mined, our gravel products are free from any harmful materials and organic matter.

Our gravel is used as base material for highways, driveways, and parking lots and for water, sewer, and storm sewer construction. Our gravel has been used as a raw material in the production of asphalt, concrete, and masonry products, including ready-mix concrete, concrete blocks, and brick pavers. Our products can also be used for landscaping and other general purposes.
Ford Construction Company has a fleet of dump trucks ready to deliver material to your job location. We also have a network of private trucking companies that help deliver material on longer hauls and during peak times of the year. Our on-site loaders will load your trucks and trailers for you with the material you need in the shortest amount of time possible.
We manufacture multi-purpose sand and surface-mined red gravel as well as both Cold Mix Asphalt and Hot Mix Asphalt, which is either customizable or offered in a standard mix design throughout West Tennessee. If you have any questions or would like a price for any of our materials, please feel free to give us a call at 731.285.1938. No matter how much material you need, we will work with you and help you get it where you need it.
Where Aggregates and Asphalt Cement Meet
Hot Mix Asphalt
Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) is a generic term that includes many different types of mixtures of aggregates and asphalt cement, a product of crude oil refinement, at elevated temperatures (typically between 300ºF and 350ºF) in an asphalt plant. The staff at our asphalt plants have the knowledge and capability to design and produce an HMA mix to meet your specifications or you may choose one of our standard mix designs for your project. If you are unsure what type of HMA mix is right for your project, contact us and we will be glad to assist you in selecting an appropriate mix design that meets your needs. All of our standard mix designs have been approved by the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
Cold Mix Asphalt
Cold Mix Asphalt is generally manufactured with water-based emulsified or cutback asphalt and different types of mixtures of aggregates and is generally placed at atmospheric temperatures. Cold Mix Asphalt can be used as a surface mix or as a sub-base course under the right conditions. Cold Mix Asphalt surface courses are suitable for light and medium traffic loads and typically require a seal coat or HMA overlay for surface protection. Cold Mix Asphalt is commonly used as a patching material and on low-volume service roadway surfaces.
